Ramp Check Ahead of May Day, Police Ensure Vehicles Are Safe for Workers’ Travel

Globaltoday.id, Lumajang – Ahead of International Workers’ Day (May Day) 2026, the Traffic Unit of Lumajang Police has intensified safety measures by conducting vehicle inspections, known as ramp checks.

This activity aims to ensure that all vehicles transporting workers from Lumajang to event locations are in proper condition, roadworthy, and meet safety standards.

During the inspection, officers checked several important aspects, including the physical condition of the vehicles, completeness of documents, and the functionality of safety components such as brakes, lights, and tires.

The Head of the Traffic Unit, AKP Yulian Putra Prasviawan, S.T.K., S.I.K., stated that this effort is a preventive measure to reduce the risk of traffic accidents during the movement of workers.

“This ramp check is important to make sure that the workers’ journey is safe, secure, and smooth until they reach their destination,” he said.

In addition, officers also reminded drivers to follow traffic rules, avoid using unfit vehicles, and always prioritize passenger safety.

Security measures are not limited to inspections, but also include travel escorts to prevent potential disturbances on the road.

With these efforts, authorities hope that all May Day activities will run safely, orderly, and without incidents during transportation.
