Globaltoday.id, Lumajang, May 9, 2026 – The Lumajang Regency Government is intensifying efforts to improve public safety by strengthening coordination between local authorities, police, and community leaders across the region.
The move reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that residents feel safe and comfortable in their daily lives, not only through law enforcement but also through fast and responsive public services.
The commitment was emphasized during a coordination meeting attended by all district heads in Lumajang Regency at Pendopo Arya Wiraraja on Friday night (May 8, 2026). The meeting was led directly by Lumajang Regent Indah Amperawati and attended by Lumajang Police Chief Alex Sandy Siregar.
During the meeting, officials discussed preventive measures to maintain regional stability and improve readiness at district and village levels.
Regent Indah Amperawati, widely known as Bunda Indah, said the government must act quickly before small problems develop into larger security issues.
“People should feel safe while working, traveling, and carrying out social activities. The government must be responsive and present in the community,” she said.
According to her, a secure environment directly affects economic productivity, public mobility, and social harmony. For that reason, the local government continues to strengthen cooperation with police, district administrations, village governments, and local communities to prevent possible disturbances early.
Bunda Indah also assured residents that the overall condition in Lumajang remains safe and under control. Preventive measures and regular coordination are being carried out continuously to maintain public confidence and comfort.
“Security is not only about maintaining order, but also about making people feel calm and protected in everyday life,” she added.
Meanwhile, Police Chief Alex Sandy Siregar appreciated the local government’s quick response in building cross-sector cooperation. He stated that security efforts become more effective when government institutions and communities work together to protect their neighborhoods.
Through this approach, the Lumajang Regency Government hopes public services will go beyond administration and directly address the community’s basic need for safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
