Police Raid Hideout of Brutal Robbery Gang in Lumajang, Two Suspects Arrested

Globaltoday.id, Lumajang – A shocking criminal case was uncovered after police raided a hideout used by a violent robbery gang in Pandanarum Village, Tempeh District, Lumajang. Two suspects were successfully arrested during the operation.

The suspects were identified as NH (24), believed to be the main actor, and MH (15), a minor. Officers from the Resmob Unit of Lumajang Police surrounded the house before moving in, leaving the suspects with no chance to escape.

Lumajang Police Chief, AKBP Alex Sandy Siregar, stated that despite one of the suspects being underage, their actions were extremely brutal. In their latest crime, the gang reportedly threw the victim off a bridge into the Bondoyudo River.

“The victim was followed by four perpetrators. At the scene, there was an argument before the victim was beaten and thrown into the river,” he explained on Wednesday (April 29, 2026).

Fortunately, the victim survived after local residents nearby quickly helped and rescued them. The victim suffered injuries due to the assault.

During the raid, police also searched the house and found evidence linked to the crimes. Officers secured a stolen motorcycle belonging to the victim and a sharp weapon allegedly used in the attack.

“We have arrested two suspects along with evidence. The other two are still being pursued, but we already know their identities and locations,” the police chief added.

Currently, both suspects and the seized evidence are being held at Lumajang Police Headquarters. Authorities are continuing their search for the remaining suspects, who are believed to have fled the city to avoid arrest.

The case has raised serious concerns about public safety, as police intensify efforts to dismantle the entire criminal network.
