No Mercy for Violations: Lumajang Regent Enforces Strict Discipline for Civil Servants

Globaltoday.id, Lumajang – The Government of Lumajang has reaffirmed its strong commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity among civil servants (ASN). The policy is clear: any proven violation will be handled firmly, without compromise.

Lumajang Regent, Indah Amperawati, stated on Thursday (April 30, 2026) that strict law enforcement is essential to maintain public trust and the credibility of the government.

“There is no compromise in this matter. If a violation is proven through proper examination, sanctions will be given firmly, even up to dismissal,” she stressed.

Integrity as the Main Foundation

This statement reflects the local government’s direction to place integrity at the center of public service. All government employees, including both permanent and contract staff, are required to uphold ethics, discipline, and professionalism.

The Regent explained that handling violations does not rely only on external processes. Internal supervision has been strengthened, with the inspectorate playing a key role in conducting fast administrative checks to ensure clear and fair decisions.

Faster and Stronger Supervision

This approach is part of a broader reform in monitoring systems. Any indication of misconduct must be handled quickly, objectively, and transparently. The goal is not only to punish, but also to prevent similar violations in the future.

In addition, this strict policy is expected to educate civil servants about their responsibilities. Being a public servant means carrying both moral and legal duties.

“Discipline is not just about rules, but about maintaining public trust. Civil servants must be role models, not part of the problem,” she added.

Building a Clean Bureaucracy

The government is also strengthening preventive efforts through regular checks and guidance programs for civil servants. These steps aim to create early detection systems and build a healthy, integrity-based work culture.

With this policy, the Lumajang government shows that a clean and professional bureaucracy is not just a slogan, but a real commitment supported by firm and consistent law enforcement.
