Globaltoday.id, Lumajang — The Environmental Agency (DLH) of Lumajang Regency has come under public attention after holding a mass urine test for its employees on Thursday (April 30, 2026). The test was carried out as part of efforts to monitor and prevent drug abuse within the local government.
The screening took place at the DLH office under the supervision of Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers. Employees followed the procedure in turns, and the process ran smoothly without any issues.
This move follows the recent arrest of a DLH staff member by the Lumajang Police narcotics unit. The individual was allegedly involved in drug distribution. Earlier, a similar case also occurred at the Education Office (Dindik), where authorities conducted a raid and detained several people.
These incidents involving two local government institutions have raised public concern.
As of now, the Head of DLH Lumajang, Hertutik, has not released any official statement regarding the urine test or the previous case. Attempts to contact her by phone have not been successful.
A receptionist at the DLH office said that the head of the agency is currently busy and unavailable for comment.
Meanwhile, the results of the urine test have not yet been announced. Further information is still awaited from the authorities.
Police have previously stated that they will continue to investigate drug networks that may involve civil servants in Lumajang.
