Globaltoday.id, Lumajang – A diplomatic visit took place at the headquarters of Polres Lumajang as Lumajang Police Chief Alex Sandy Siregar welcomed the Australian Consul General in Surabaya, Christine Bui, on Monday (April 28, 2026).
The meeting was held in a friendly and open atmosphere, focusing on building stronger cooperation and sharing information about security conditions in Lumajang.
The Consul General was received directly by the Police Chief, along with several senior officers. The discussion highlighted the importance of coordination between local law enforcement and international representatives, especially in maintaining safety and stability in the region.
Police Chief Alex Sandy Siregar said the visit was a positive step to strengthen relationships and improve communication between institutions.
“We welcome this visit as a way to build cooperation and share information. In general, the security situation in Lumajang is safe and under control,” he said.
He also emphasized that Lumajang Police are committed to protecting all people in the area, including foreign nationals, and are ready to work closely with various parties to prevent any security issues.
Meanwhile, Consul General Christine Bui expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome. She explained that the visit aimed to better understand the local security situation and ensure the safety of Australian citizens in the region.
“This visit helps us build good communication with local authorities. We want to understand the security conditions and make sure our citizens are well protected,” she said.
She added that the Australian Consulate in Surabaya has responsibility for Australian citizens in East Java and Central Java, making cooperation with local police very important.
